I take a developmental play-based approach to therapy, believing that therapy should provide children with experiences of joy and success. In the process of completing tailored play-based activities at the "just right" challenge level, children also progress up the developmental ladder and develop their sensory, motor, emotional and cognitive skills.
Family involvement in sessions is strongly emphasized and I also facilitate regular family education meetings. This empowers family to be at the centre of the process and helps to transfer therapeutic recommendations into the home environment.
I am especially passionate about working with children with emotional regulation challenges and sensory differences; particularly 0-5 year olds.
I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 and have since worked as an Occupational Therapist across a variety of fields. I made the change to paediatrics in 2017 and have never looked back. In my spare time I can be found enjoying time at home with my husband and son or exploring the beautiful outdoors.
